Our People

At Companions of London we understand that it is very important for elderly people to be provided with the loving care that they need. It's also important that they are comfortable with the people who care for them. That's why we provide professional in-home care that is reliable and highly effective.

We introduce clients to fully trained carers. The carers offer a high level of care and help that is necessary for vulnerable elderly people. It's important for them to remain engaged in life, and that they do not feel isolated during this time. We want you to feel loved and valued, while they provide a positive environment of care inside their home.

The Recruitment Process

Companions of London check that all our carers are fully trained. This provides our patients with peace of mind. You will know that your loved ones are being taken care of people who are passionate about that they do. It is important that highly trained people provide the care you need.

At Companions of London we do not directly recruit staff.  We offer a process where by we introduce the service of a variety of professional carers to patients. We only work with professionals who are fully qualified and highly experienced in what they do.

We individually screen and select every caregiver fully. We have a thorough pre-employment process. This includes interviews as well as various mandatory reference and background checks. We also do ongoing evaluations to ensure that we only connect you with the most competent professionals.

Professional Training

Our care visitors are professionally trained, and this includes training such as Healthcare Aid (HCA), or Personal Support Worker (PSW). We ensure that your carer has a valid work permit as well as a clean criminal background check.

Background and Reference Checks

We also personally follow up with all references as well as clients they have worked for in the past. We also speak to their families to get a clear indication of their personality and their achievements.

We ask the right questions during the screening process, including the following:

  • How long has this person work for you
  • Was he or she always available and always on time
  • Was he or she reliable
  • How was his or her knowledge about specialised care
  • Would you recommend this person to other patients

Caregiver Assignment

Once a carer has passed our initial screening process, they will be provided at your home to introduce themselves. We make every effort to ensure that care providers are matched with your unique interests, experiences and needs.

In addition to this, we only work with qualified caregivers who are passionate about what they do. We want to offer you were the best possible care. This means carers should have the right training at the right environment that they work in.
